As a mom to an almost 2 year old, I don’t have the time to spend forever on my makeup like I did before I had her. I need a routine that is simple, quick, and makes me look good. Thankfully, I’ve had 21 months to really perfect this routine. It usually takes about 5 minutes from start to finish to get my makeup done. Here’s what I use.
First off, I use Sephora’s 10 hr Wear Perfection Foundation. It stays put all day and it’s super easy to apply with Sephora’s Pro Stippling Brush. After that, I apply my concealer, Laura Mercier’s Secret Camouflage with Sephora’s Pro Airbrush Concealer Brush. To my eyes, I apply Too Faced Lemon Drop Eye Shadow Primer and then I swipe Chopper from the Urban Decay Naked 2 pallet on my eyelids and Bootycall on my brow bone. I then line my upper lash line with Clinique’s Quickliner for Eyes Intense in Black Honey and do a quick application of mascara with Clinique’s Lash Power Mascara in Black Onyx. Finally, I apply Too Faced Melted Long Wear Lipstick in Melted Peony or Melted Nude.
I may do a separate post on how much I love Clinique’s mascara. It is the ONLY mascara that doesn’t smudge onto my under-eye area after an hour or two (it doesn’t smudge there AT ALL actually). I have had horrible luck with other mascaras doing that, and I find myself going back to Clinique time and time again because of how wonderful their mascara is.
I realized I didn’t put a blush in my routine….because I vary rarely use blush. I think due to my acne scars on my cheeks, I feel like blush really accentuates those scars and I would rather just keep it out of my routine. I mean, do I REALLY need blush?
If you have any questions about my routine, don’t be afraid to leave a comment!
