March 18th marked Rylie’s 4th birthday, and I have never had that many mixed emotions all in 1 day. My baby girl is growing up and getting older and while I’m so excited for her because she’s becoming a “big kid” and is learning and growing, it still makes me very sad.
I spent time looking at old baby photos/videos of her and I seriously wanted to cry.
Sure, I have a 3 month old to satisfy my baby cravings, but still. There’s always this part of you that wants your babies to remain babies forever.
We started off her birthday celebration bright and early at 7:30am. She woke up and got so excited when she came out into the living room and seen all the presents on her table. We let her open them all and she had some fun playing with them before we had breakfast.
After breakfast, we sang Happy Birthday to her and let her have a piece of the cake I made for her birthday. She wanted a strawberry cake with strawberry frosting with Owlet and sprinkles as decorations….so I just made one myself. I’m no Picasso, but she loved it and the cake was SO GOOD.
After breakfast she played more with her new toys and then we took her to the mall to have lunch and went to Build a Bear to get whatever she wanted (hello $80 Elsa bear…good lord).
After Build a Bear we went home and spent a bit of time hanging around before dinner time, when we took her to Chuck E Cheese. As a side note, it’s been a while since I’ve been to one and I regret it. That place was a mad house and was super cramped. The pizza was okay, but nothing to brag about. And don’t get me started on some of the parents and how they treated their kids.
Overall, her birthday was wonderful and while she didn’t get a party thrown for her, we had a great day celebrating HER and having fun!
